  16. I have just set up CKermit 7 Beta 6 on SuSE 6.1 Linux and am having
  17. problems with the Carrier detection.
  18.  
  19. I am using a V34 modem to dial a number of sites. If I dial another
  20. V34 modem I do not have any problems but if I call a 2400 baud modem
  21. the  modem sends "CARRIER 2400" after the handshake tahes place.
  22.  
  23.  At this stage the CD lead is still low. Kermit appears to now check
  24. the CD lead and still being low issues a statemet saying  that I have
  25. lost carrier.

  27. About 2 to 5 seconds latter the modem sets the CD lead high.

  29. If I run this as a script the modem is disconnected before the CD lead
  30. has been set high. It does not matter if I set  CARRIER-WATCH OFF, the
  31. modem still disconnects.

  33. The script was working perfectly under Solaris X86 using CKermit
  34. 6.0.192 using the same modems.

  36. Any ideas as to what is going on?
